Sanan Smith Gant

Biography

Born and raised in Brazil, Sanan Smith Gantt moved to the United States in 2005 to pursue a Master’s degree in Education at Duke University. While her path ultimately led her outside the classroom, the skills she developed—managing people, thinking creatively, and maintaining a sharp eye for detail—became the foundation for a highly successful career.

For nearly 20 years, Sanan thrived in the clinical research industry, leading global teams dedicated to developing new medications for complex diseases. Her ability to build strong teams, streamline processes, and keep people focused on the bigger picture made her a trusted leader in a high-stakes environment.

Today, Sanan brings that same strategic mindset and heart for people to Gantt Family Law. As Director of Operations and Client Success, she focuses on implementing processes that keep the team organized, improving client communication, and ensuring clients feel supported and informed every step of the way.

Sanan’s dedication to families is also deeply personal. Having been through divorce herself, she understands firsthand how stressful, heartbreaking, and challenging this season of life can be. She reminds clients to focus on the future and trust that better days are ahead.

Sanan and her husband, Richard, have built a beautiful blended family with five amazing boys and a lovable French Bulldog. Outside of work, Sanan is passionate about community involvement, travel, lifelong learning, and her spiritual journey. She and Richard are proud members of Vintage Church in Raleigh, where they continue to grow in faith and service.
